These Terms govern moving services provided by Sawtooth Moving LLC (“Sawtooth Moving,” “we,” “us”) to you (“Customer,” “you”). By booking a move on our website, by phone, or in writing, you agree to the Terms below. Read them carefully before your move. If anything is unclear, call us at (208) 543-1460.
01Services and Rates
Sawtooth Moving provides local and regional moving services from Twin Falls, Idaho. Our published rate is $175 per hour for a 2-mover crew and a truck, with a 2-hour minimum on every move ($350 minimum). After the 2-hour minimum, time is billed in 15-minute increments. Each additional mover beyond two adds $35 per hour (a 3-mover crew is $210 per hour).
For locations outside Twin Falls city limits, we charge our standard hourly rate for travel time port to port (yard-to-job-and-back).
We reserve the right to add additional movers when a job calls for it. Reasons may include but are not limited to: stairs, third-floor or upper-floor units, upright pianos, gun safes, large amounts of items, or other conditions our crew determines to be necessary for safety or efficiency.
Included free with every move: furniture pads, plastic wrap, dollies, and tools for furniture disassembly and reassembly. On request and free of charge, we provide up to three wardrobe boxes for hanging clothes and one TV box, provided they are returned to us at the end of the move. Full packing and unpacking services are available for an additional fee, quoted in advance.
02Booking and Confirmation
Bookings made through our website auto-confirm at the time of booking. A Sawtooth Moving representative will contact you by phone or text before the move to confirm details, address access, parking, and any items requiring special handling.
Online estimates are presented as a ballpark range. Your final invoice is calculated by the actual hours worked, in 15-minute increments after the 2-hour minimum, plus any applicable port-to-port travel time, additional-mover fees, packing-supply purchases, or third-party packing services.
03Cancellation and No-Show
Cancellation. Your deposit holds your slot. Cancel more than 24 hours before your scheduled start time and you get it back in full, no penalty. Inside that 24-hour window the deposit's gone, we've had a couple of jobs where we drove all the way out to Burley and nobody was there, crew already paid and the truck already rolling, so the 24-hour rule is how we keep that from happening.
No-show. If our crew arrives at the loading address at the scheduled time and the customer is not present, the move has been started elsewhere by another company, or the customer claims cancellation without prior notice or proof, the card on file will be charged the 2-hour minimum at the booked crew rate. Rebooking after a no-show requires prepayment of the 2-hour minimum before a new appointment is scheduled.
Rescheduling. Reschedule requests made more than 24 hours in advance are accommodated free of charge subject to availability.
04Card on File and 24-Hour Deposit
A valid credit or debit card is required at the time of booking and is held on file to reserve the appointment slot. Card information is processed and stored by our payment processor (Stripe); Sawtooth Moving does not retain full card numbers.
Twenty-four hours before your scheduled appointment, the card on file is automatically charged the 2-hour minimum ($350 for a 2-mover crew). The deposit is applied as a credit toward your final invoice on the day of the move.
Example: a 10:00 AM appointment is charged $350 at 10:00 AM the day before. If you cancel before the 24-hour mark, the deposit is not charged. If you cancel after the deposit is charged, refer to Section 03 for the cancellation policy.
05Payment Methods and Fees
Payment is due in full upon completion of the move. Sawtooth Moving may require payment for services rendered before unloading is complete per company policy.
We accept: cash (preferred), credit and debit cards through our website checkout or in person, Venmo, and Cash App. Zelle may be accepted when arranged directly with Sawtooth Moving LLC. We do not accept personal checks.
A 3.5% processing fee is added to all credit and debit card payments to offset processor costs. Cash, Venmo, Cash App, and Zelle payments do not incur a processing fee.
06Customer Responsibilities
To keep your move efficient and safe, please complete the following before our crew arrives. We are happy to help with any of these for an hourly rate.
- Box all loose items. Same-size, same-brand boxes pack a truck more efficiently. Use large boxes only for light, large items such as lamp shades. Overweight boxes may need to be repacked.
- Disconnect and drain all appliances, electronics, water lines, and gas lines. Refrigerators, freezers, and washers should be disconnected and cleaned 24 hours prior. Some washers require shipping bolts; consult the manufacturer.
- Empty all furniture: nightstands, cabinets, buffets, bookcases. Dressers may stay full depending on weight and logistics.
- Disassemble bed frames, remove mirrors from dressers, remove glass from curio cabinets, and disassemble exercise equipment.
- Wrap and box all loose items: TVs, mirrors, artwork, lamps, and lamp shades. Glass items belong in padded boxes.
- You are responsible for transporting all liquids, hazardous materials, firearms, ammunition, jewelry, and cash yourself.
- Measure large items (refrigerators, couches, washers, dryers) against your doorways, hallways, and entryways at both addresses. We cannot guarantee items will fit through every passage.
- Empty and dry fish tanks completely before the move. Provide notice in advance for any large fish tank.
If we need to box up loose items not properly packaged on the day of the move, packing time and supply costs will be added to your invoice.
07Items We Will Not Move
For the safety of our crew and your property, we will not transport the following:
- Flammable liquids, solvents, propane tanks, and hazardous or explosive materials
- Firearms, ammunition, jewelry, cash, and valuables (you transport these yourself)
- Garbage, soiled or dirty items, garden hoses with water still in them
- Trees, shrubs, or live plants
- Electronics not properly packaged. TVs must be in original packaging or a hardware-store TV box. Monitors, computers, and gaming systems must be appropriately packed.
- Items contaminated with animal urine, feces, or other biohazards. Furniture blankets will not be applied to such items, and we may refuse to move them entirely.
We reserve the right to refuse to move gun safes or upright pianos that are too heavy or unsafe to move with the booked crew. These items, when moved, are subject to an additional-mover fee. We also reserve the right to refuse any item we determine to be a hazard to our crew or to other property.
08Insurance and Damages
Released-value protection. Sawtooth Moving provides released-value protection at $0.60 per pound per article. This is the default coverage included with every move at no additional charge.
Full-value protection. Full-value insurance is available only through third-party providers. We are happy to provide referrals.
If damage is caused by our crew, at our discretion we will repair the item or compensate you for its depreciated value.
The following are at the owner’s risk unless packed and unpacked by Sawtooth Moving: china, glass, clocks, glassware, lamps, mirrors, pictures, artwork, flat-panel televisions, and any other fragile articles.
Sawtooth Moving is not responsible for:
- The mechanical condition of electronics and appliances. We assume responsibility only for items mishandled or visibly damaged by our crew.
- Damage to unprotected flooring at the loading or unloading address.
- Damage to furniture from inherent weakness, defect, prior repair, or unstable construction.
- Loss of money, jewelry, or other valuables. Please secure these before our crew arrives.
- Particle-board or ready-to-assemble furniture, which is not structurally designed to be moved once assembled. We will not repair or replace these items if damaged.
- Leaks from appliances we connect or disconnect, even where reasonable care was taken.
- Items not in our immediate care, custody, and control.
- Any claim not specified on the signed move agreement.
Please inspect all goods at both the origin and destination before the crew leaves the unloading address.

At the conclusion of the move, you confirm that you have inspected all of your household or office goods and found them in the same condition as when loaded; that you have inspected the moving van and received all of your goods; that all furniture and boxes are placed where you want them and items requested for reassembly are working; and that you have inspected the origin location and confirmed nothing was left behind. You release Sawtooth Moving from any claims not specifically noted on the signed move agreement.
